भारत और ऑस्ट्रेलिया के बीच तीसरा टेस्ट क्रिकेट मैच सोमवार को यहां ड्रॉ समाप्त हुआ। भारत के सामने 407 रन का लक्ष्य था। उसने पांचवें और अंतिम दिन का खेल समाप्त होने तक पांच विकेट पर 334 रन बनाकर मैच ड्रॉ कराया। ऑस्ट्रेलिया ने पहली पारी में 338 रन बनाए और दूसरी पारी छह विकेट पर 312 रन बनाकर समाप्त घोषित की। भारत ने पहली पारी में 244 रन बनाये थे।आप नतीजा देखेंगे तो आपको ड्रॉ नजर आएगा लेकिन उसके पीछे की मेहनत को नजरअंदाज नहीं किया जा सकता। कई बार ड्रॉ किसी जीत से कम नहीं होती। जब सामने वाली टीम, क्रिकेट के जानकार, दर्शक और यहां तक कि आपके प्रशंसक भी यह मान रहे हों कि अब हार निश्चित है तो वहां से मैच को पहले जीत की ओर ले जाना और फिर वहां से ड्रॉ करवा लेना कोई छोटी बात नहीं भारत ने सिडनी में वही किया। लग रहा था कि 407 रनों का लक्ष्य हासिल नहीं किया जा सकता। ऋषभ पंत के धमाके ने उम्मीद जताई। उनके आउट होने के बाद भारत ने रणनीति बदली और यह सुनिश्चित किया कि ऑस्ट्रेलिया को कोई बढ़त न मिले।
